Our Personalized Tea Bag Party Favors are our Special-Tea! Give your guests exceptional tea bag favors they will not soon forget. When you give tea as a party favor you will be sure they will be taken home and enjoyed. Tea favors also make a great "welcome basket" additions for your out of town guests. Leave a few in their hotel room for a lovely gesture. Create your own tea bag baskets. Fill a little basket with two to three tea bag favors and place a coordinating wrapped candy favor (or other little treat) along with them. Adorn the handle of the basket with a bow that compliments your theme. These are all perfect ideas Tea Party Etiquette You should have good manners all the time and a tea party is no different. Follow proper etiquette in the Emily Post-school of dining by being a gracious host and a polite guest. For a tea party, you'll need to know how to navigate a table setting, properly interact with other ladies and daintily drink your tea. And always ask the host if she needs any help. Follow Proper Etiquette Skills Know how to understand a table setting. The dinner plate is always in the middle, with two forks to the left of it and a knife and two spoons to the right. You work from the outside in for each course. Place the tea cup to the top right of the plate above the knives and spoons. Other dishes are on the table based on what is being served. In the case of a tea party, the main dish is used for sandwiches and breads and a smaller dish, set to the left, is for desserts. Make use of your napkin. Proper etiquette is to place it on your lap unfolded before you start eating. Dispose of tea bags properly. If the tea is not already brewed in a pot and you are using a tea bag, never discard it on the table. A good hostess will provide you with a little dish. Be considerate if the tea party has a serving table set up. It is customary to wait your turn and not reach in front of or over other guests. If something needs replenishing, discretely inform the hostess or server. Follow correct etiquette while mingling. Make good eye contact and listen to others when they speak to you. Never interrupt a person in mid-sentence. Be a good conversationalist and not too quiet. If a lull in the conversation arises, bring up a subject or compliment what someone is wearing. After the tea party, be sure and thank your host before you leave and do the same by sending a note. When thinking about tea parties, do you find yourself overwhelmed with thoughts of the British gentry, scenes from Alice in Wonderland, Victorian decor, blue haired ladies and pinky fingers stuck up in the air? If so, you're both right and wrong. You're right because as the tradition of "Afternoon" Tea has developed over time, it has become an elegant affair. You're wrong because "High" Tea was often enjoyed by the British working class as their evening supper, with heartier fare than the tea sandwiches and scones that are now associated with tea time. As the custom has evolved, tea time is usually scheduled from mid to late afternoon. It's a between meal snack that is a lot more elegant than a bag of chips from the vending machine. It needn't be extremely fussy, although the meal often includes savory, bite size sandwiches, scones or biscuits, and sweets (along with a good pot of tea, of course!) Both men and women enjoy afternoon tea in England, and it's often used as a function for entertaining business clients. An Afternoon Tea Party is suitable for many celebrations. When you'd like to host a party that isn't as involved as a dinner party, a tea party can be the answer. It's an ideal format for a bridal or baby shower, a retirement party, a birthday celebration, or time to catch up with good friends. The food is prepared before your guests arrive, and is either presented buffet style, or by passing plates of goodies at the table. The only thing you need to serve is the tea itself, leaving you plenty of time to relax and enjoy your guests. Your guest list can include dozens of people or only one good friend with whom you'd like to share an intimate conversation. It can be a very formal affair as you'll find at some of the more elegant hotels, or it can be as casual as a pot of tea and some cookies. Whatever your reason for hosting your next tea party, enjoy a cup for me! Tea Time TablesIn many parts of the world, tea time is an honored tradition of refinement and elegance. When you're planning a tea party -- whether for a shower, graduation, birthday, or just for fun -- adorn your table with your best china, silver, and linens. These add polish and grace to the occasion, and in our "paper cup" world they remind us fondly of earlier times. Bridal Tea Shower: Elegant brides and guests will love a Bridal Tea. Invite guest to wear fancy hats and gloves, or search flea markets and antique shops for hats guests can wear during the tea. Serve properly brewed tea, along with fancy tea sandwiches and desserts. Gifts can be from any general category. Use lace tablecloths and napkins, crystal vases and silver serving dishes. Use your finest china for serving and rent silver tea services for the tea. Decorate with lacy parasols and bouquets of fresh flowers. Guests can go home with assorted packets of tea or pretty tea cups or teaspoons. Other Tips Buy your bread from a Bakery. Next cut off the crust, also use fancy toothpicks stuck in the sandwiches. Now there are different spreads you can use. Seafood Filling:
Chicken Salad Filling:3/4 finely chopped cooked chicken*
In small bowl, combine ingredients, mix well. You can make the night before. Ham Salad Sandwiches

Other Shower Themes: Gift Certificate Bridal or Wedding Shower: Have guests purchase gift certificates from local shops in the bride and grooms hometown so that they can utilize them throughout their first year of marriage! Honeymoon Shower! Have guests bring gifts for the couples honeymoon. This shower will be a party everyone will love! Have a Pampering Bridal or Wedding Shower! Have every guest bring something to soothe the bride before her big day! Gift ideas include: massage gift certificate, robe and slippers, bubble baths and lotions. Serve comfort foods at her shower. Have a Couple's Bridal or Wedding Shower! Ask each guest to share stories of their biggest challenges and to give advice for keeping a marriage loving and exciting. Play a dating game for laughs. Make the menu interactive, such as create your own pizzas or submarine sandwiches. Bring gifts the couple can use together, such as his and hers matching bathrobes and/or towels, outdoor games, indoor board games or books. Find old movie posters or prints of famous couples throughout history and display them at the party. Don't Say "Bride" or "Wedding" Game: Each guest receives a clothes pin as they arrive and it is explained to the guests only once: If you catch someone saying the words "bride" or "wedding" you can take their clothes pin. At the end of the shower, the guest with the most clothes pins wins a small favor or gift. The Wedding Alphabet Game: The host starts with a sentence using the letter "A" to describe a wedding item or tradition. In the sentence she describes that she went to a wedding and brought an album. The next guest must repeat this sentence and add another item at the end of the sentence, and it starts with the letter "B", such as "I went to a wedding and brought an album and bubbles." And so on. Anyone unable to add a wedding related item must drop out of the game. The person who stays alive the longest wins the prize. Second Bridal or Wedding Shower: Since this is a second wedding for the bride, groom or both, they no doubt have a fully supplied household and don't need the same items a couple just starting out would need. Make the shower a night out for couples. Go for the unusual in gifts! Have guests pool their money to buy the couple something fun, such as a gift certificate to dinner at a classy restaurant. Registering them for ballroom dancing or a couple's massage class are also great ideas. "Penny For Your Thoughts" Game: Introduction Game - Have two pennies from the same year, with a different year for each guest. Example: 15 guests, 30 pennies, 15 different years. When the guests arrive they are given a penny and the other penny is put in a jar. When all the guests have arrived, the bride-to-be selects a penny and the person with the penny with that corresponding year tells a little about herself, how she knows the bride, and maybe a little story about the bride. After everyone has spoken the bride-to-be puts her pennies back into the jar and selects one to win a prize. "Who Am I" Game: Prepare index cards with the names of famous people written on them. When the guests arrive, attach a card to each guest's back so that the guest cannot see the name, but someone else can. Each guest must then ask the other guests for clues to the identity of the famous person. To prevent cheating by clever guests trying to read it in a mirror, place a 2nd index card over the title to hide it. "Songs of Love" Game: Make a list of 15-20 words that represent marriage. Pass out copies for each guest, then give them 10 minutes to identify a popular song that has the word in it. The guest with the most songs listed wins. Note: the guest must know some of the words to the song she has listed. Who knows the bride and groom game: Come up with as many questions about the bride and groom and/or their upcoming wedding you can think of and write about 10-15 questions on a sheet of paper. Photocopy enough for all guests and have them answer the questions in 3-5 minutes. Sit the couple in the middle of the room and read the questions. Have them answer the questions and award a small prize to the guest who gets the most right. Strawberries 'n Cream Punch: Add 1 gallon vanilla ice cream to a punch bowl. Next, add 1 2-liter bottle of strawberry-flavored seltzer or sparkling water and 1 package of frozen strawberries, thawed. (Hint: Modify the amount of soda you add depending on how thick you would like your punch.)
